Since 1987 CompuCom has been providing innovative IT support to companies across the globe. To better serve its East Coast Market, CompuCom moved its headquarters from Dallas to Lancaster County, South Carolina, 30 minutes outside of Charlotte, NC. Rosendin joined Choate Construction to build the new Internet of Things, high-tech facility. The new facility includes Power over Ethernet lighting that utilizes 700 occupancy sensors that collect data rather than just detecting motion. The extensive lighting system is controlled exclusively through a cloud-based system. The system is operated by toggling lighting on any smart device and was accomplished by combining three different lighting systems.
The Internet of Things system not only controls lighting but all other major systems as well, including heating and air-conditioning, power usage and types of usage including low voltage lighting, generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS), fire alarm, security and video surveillance system, elevator usage and tracking, as well as domestic and irrigation water consumption. Rosendin also installed over 175,000 feet of cabling for 1,700 light fixtures, security system, power window shades, monitoring, and all audio-visual systems within the building. Amenities include a fitness center, café-style dining area, and a multitude of indoor and outdoor collaboration workspaces. Rosendin’s team monitored all mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment in the new space transforming the space into a high-tech hub for CompuCom employees and clients.
