Rosendin picks new CEO, CFO for succession plan

Two long-time company vets will enter the C-suite at the employee-owned electrical contractor, with another slotted to take over its West region.

San Jose, California-based electrical contractor Rosendin named Keith Douglas as its new CEO, effective in January, according to an Aug. 24 press release. Douglas will also join the firm’s board of directors.

In addition, the company named Matt Hisaka as its new CFO, also effective in the new year.

Douglas, an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, joined Rosendin as a division manager in 2012 to open the company’s mid-Atlantic operations as it expanded to the East Coast, according to the release. Most recently, Douglas was the chief operating officer of the company’s Eastern region and served on the executive leadership team.

Hisaka fills his new role following 12 years on Rosendin’s finance team. Most recently, Hisaka was vice president and chief accounting officer for the electrical contractor. Hisaka will lead initiatives to drive efficiency and support Rosendin’s employee stock ownership plan.

Following the transition, current CEO Mike Greenawalt will move to CEO emeritus after 21 years with Rosendin and 45 years in the electric industry. Current CFO Lorne Rundquist will become CFO emeritus following 36 years with the company. Both will remain on the executive leadership team through 2024 to ensure a smooth transition to the new leaders, according to the release.

Rosendin’s announcement comes as the contractor readies itself to take advantage of large projects that are cropping up across the country. The company recently expanded to Boise, Idaho, and cited rising tech demand as a large part of the expansion drive.

In addition, Rosendin announced that Angie Hart will be the company’s new executive vice president in its West region. Hart, a 33-year veteran of the company, most recently served as senior vice president, and was responsible for the growth of the company’s San Jose headquarters office.

    Rosendin Develops Custom Robots to Support Solar Panel Installation

    TEE minus 2 days until the first round of the @WMPhoenixOpen tournament! ⛳ @RosendinInc takes pride in knowing that for over 15 years, our incredible team has helped build one of the biggest annual events in Arizona and the best-attended golf tournament in the world!

    Our electricians are responsible for the design, setup, and construction of all temporary power, switchboards, and panel boards for this event. The work begins in October with a small crew of individuals who spend the early weeks meeting with and working alongside the Thunderbirds as they lay out the plans for the project. Our team will also be on-site for about a month after the event, taking things down, inventorying and storing all the equipment for next year.

    Rosendin greatly appreciates the trust and confidence that The WM Phoenix Open and The Thunderbirds have placed in us throughout the years to ensure the "The Greatest Show on Grass" goes smoothly. Wishing everyone in attendance to have a fun and safe time!

    Meet Shuangying "Shawny" Lu, a Sub Foreman in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from Beijing, Shawny came to Arizona in 2007 and enrolled in trade school to become an electrician. Today, she leads a team of eight, and those around her describe her as an incredibly hard worker and a great leader. Shawny is also known as the neighborhood electrician to call for help.

    Rosendin is committed to giving back to the communities where we work and live. Our Texas team was recently honored at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post of Leander, Texas Annual Dinner for contributing to the Texas Pumpkin Fest.

    The annual event features exciting attractions, local vendors, and a mini carnival. Most importantly, it raises close to $50,000 annually for its cause. In 2024, the Post transitioned from using portable generators at the event to traditional cord and plug-type distribution. Rosendin's engineers and electricians graciously volunteered their time to help design and execute this change for a successful event.

    Thank you to our Texas team and Jeffery Johanson, Senior Project Manager and VFW member, for spearheading this effort and living our core values.

    In early February, @RosendinInc spent the week in Sparks, NV, as a Problem Sponsor for the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Regions 6 and 7 Student Competition! The annual ASC Student Competition challenges top college teams to present solutions to complex construction problems in various categories, including electrical. It is the largest construction management student competition in the nation, hosting over 1,800 student competitors from 57 universities.

    Congratulations to the 2025 ASC Regions 6 & 7 Winning Teams in Electrical: Texas A&M (1st), Ferris State University (2nd), and San Diego State University (3rd). Each team approached the challenging electrical problem with deep understanding and detail, and we are proud to be a part of these students’ growth in this growing industry.
