San Jose, California-based electrical contractor Rosendin is opening a new office in Boise, Idaho, the company announced on Monday.

Dustin McIntosh, senior project manager for Rosendin, will lead projects and regional business development at the Boise office.

The company cited increased demand for high-tech infrastructure as one reason behind the move, as the region continues to appeal to large technology, commercial and healthcare companies.

“We are pleased to be part of the region’s expansion as it continues to develop economically and structurally with infrastructure projects that shape its future,” said Robert John, division manager at Rosendin, in the release.

On top of the expansion, the electrical subcontractor also partnered with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 291 to offer career training and apprenticeships at the IBEW’s Southwestern Idaho Electrical Training Center, and with the ACE Mentorship program to educate high school students about jobs in the trades, according to the release.

Rosendin works on a breadth of builds within its portfolio. Notable projects include a data center in Chandler, Arizona, the Chase Center in San Francisco and the Townsite Solar Facility in Boulder City, Nevada. The company ranked 10th on ENR’s most recent specialty contractors list with $2.4 billion in revenue.

Rosendin isn’t the only company to expand its reach — across the country, general contractors have moved to set up new offices, taking advantage of high demand in the construction industry, ranging from industrial construction to mixed-use developments.

Our WE LEAD Employee Resource Group (ERG) provides support, resources, training, mentoring, and sponsorship opportunities to the women of Rosendin as they lead, engage, develop, and advocate for themselves and others.

Recently, the WE LEAD ERG has been offering interactive learning webinars designed to empower women in construction. These short sessions focus on practical leadership skills and communication strategies, recently drawing inspiration from principles outlined in the books “Extreme Ownerships” and “Fierce Conversations.” Participants explore taking ownership of their roles, communicating effectively, and building stronger relationships.

Rosendin is committed to giving back to the communities where we work and live. Our Texas team was recently honored at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post of Leander, Texas Annual Dinner for contributing to the Texas Pumpkin Fest.

The annual event features exciting attractions, local vendors, and a mini carnival. Most importantly, it raises close to $50,000 annually for its cause. In 2024, the Post transitioned from using portable generators at the event to traditional cord and plug-type distribution. Rosendin's engineers and electricians graciously volunteered their time to help design and execute this change for a successful event.

Thank you to our Texas team and Jeffery Johanson, Senior Project Manager and VFW member, for spearheading this effort and living our core values.
