YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Fleet Advisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the fleet operations within a designated area. This role involves overseeing vehicle maintenance, scheduling, compliance, and driver support to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective fleet management. The Fleet Advisor works closely with drivers, vendors, and internal departments to maintain optimal fleet performance and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities may involve solving problems and providing instructions on fleet specific work procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Monitor and coordinate routine and preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs, ensuring all vehicles are in safe working condition.
Ensure that all fleet vehicles and equipment comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and inspections.
Review vehicle inventory, fuel usage, and other resources, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Provide support to drivers, addressing issues and ensuring they have the necessary fleet resources and information for smooth operations.
Coordinate vehicle swaps as needed to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency, ensuring drivers have access to functional and well-maintained vehicles.
Facilitate the setup process for new drivers, including vehicle assignment, Fleet vehicle orientation, and training on company policies, vehicle usage, and safety procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact with maintenance vendors and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and prompt service response for vehicle needs
Inspects and evaluates fleet equipment, recommends repair and/or replacement of existing equipment, and maintains records of fleet inventories, assignments, and usage.
Review vehicle specifications to ensure they meet vehicle standards.
Performs other related Fleet Advisor job duties as required
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Good leadership skills to motivate, guide and inspire a team.
Good analytical skills to effectively analyze fleet data and draw accurate conclusions.
Proficiency in relevant software programs, including databases and spreadsheets.
Excellent organizational skills to cope with a fast-changing environment and multiple concurrent tasks.
Knowledge of relevant environmental, FMCSA, and safety laws and regulations.
Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office 365 apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of Experience in fleet management, logistics, or customer service roles
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and regulatory standards.
Demonstrated ability to build solutions and drive continuous improvement.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may require travel to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots
